The pressures and strains that pass through the finished saddle via horse to rider combination can be immense. The fitting of metalwork to the wooden tree frame gives therequired strength to the finished tree.

Firstly the cantle iron is positioned to accept the full length dual springs that give the tree the strength and flexibility that is required. Bar plates are then fixed to the side rails of the tree to aid lateral flexion.
Solid 4mm M/S rivets are used throughout the metalwork process and a spin riveting machine applies consistent pressure to form the heads of the rivets, giving uniformity to the finished joints.
Developed in 2007 is the double return head and gullet plate system. This new development significantly increases the strength of the head and can be used in conjunction with the 6mm IHE.
